West Indies vs Afghanistan Live Score, T20 World Cup 2024 Match Today: A sensational 53-ball 98 from Nicholas Pooran helped West Indies to post 218 for 5 before the bowlers rallied around to script a 104-run win against Afghanistan in their last group match at the Daren Sammy National Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Playing his first match this tournament, Obed McCoy rattled the Afghan middle-order as he nabbed three wickets in as many overs. Spinners Akeil Hosein and Gudakesh Motie inflicted a choke as Afghanistan were bundled for a paltry 114 in 16.2 overs.
After losing Brendon King in the second over, Johnson Charles and Nicholas Pooran went berserk and took the Windies to 92/1 in the powerplay, the highest PP score in the T20 World Cups. In the middle overs, Afghanistan spinners put the breaks on the run scoring but Pooran at the back end of the innings cut loose and helped West Indies post their highest total in the T20 World Cups.

Romario Shepherd is out of the West Indies lineup after the birth of his second child. He will rejoin the squad on Tuesday. His place was taken by Obed McCoy while Shai Hope replaces Royston Chase.
