With the help of models like the Tiago EV and the Tata Nexon EV, among others, Tata Motors is the market leader in India for four-wheelers. At Rs 7.99 lakh, the Tata Tiago EV was one of the least expensive EVs when it was first introduced in India. There are currently rumours that the corporation is developing a second inexpensive EV.
The Tata Nano Electric is anticipated to be the aforementioned EV. Indian consumers were enthralled with the Tata Nano due to its small size and reasonably priced Rs 1 lakh. However, it was later terminated.
Even after being phased out for many years, the Nano automobile is still a popular choice among consumers. It appears now that Tata may bring the Nano back as an electric vehicle.

Although the Nano EV’s feature list is still under development, it is anticipated to include a touchscreen infotainment system, controls positioned on the steering wheel, four power windows, a semi-digital driver’s display, and manual air conditioning.
The Nano EV should have two front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and possibly a rear parking camera as standard safety features.
Rumour has it that the Nano EV will cost between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh. An expected 200 km will be its range.
Meanwhile, a Pune-based company called Electra EV developed a retrofitted Tata Nano EV, which is currently owned by Ratan Tata himself. However, there is no information about its range and performance yet.

In 2017, Tata Motor’s partner Jayem automotive announced an electric version of the Nano under the Jayem Neo brand. The project was to bring these cars to fleet operators. However, this never happened. If developed, this Nano electric was to offer 203km range on a single charge.
