Students Fainting in Bihar Schools Because of Extreme Heat!

Officials say that kids in several schools in at least three districts in Bihar passed out on Wednesday because of the extreme heat. Tuesday in Aurangabad, Bihar, the temperature reached 47.7 degrees Celsius, which was the state’s all-time high. The state is in terrible heat; in some places on Wednesday, the day temperature went over 44 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra called a high-level meeting on Wednesday to talk about how ready the different offices are for the extreme heatwave in the state. “A high-level meeting of the crisis management group of the state government has been called by the Chief Secretary for today at 3.30 pm to review the preparedness of departments concerned in light of the extreme heatwave conditions in the state,” Pratyaya Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary of the Disaster Management Department of the Bihar government, told PTI.

Students Fainting in Bihar Schools

Suresh Prasad, the headmaster of a middle school in Mankaul in the Sheikhpura district, told reporters, “During the assembly prayers on Wednesday, about 6-7 students passed out because of the extreme heat.” We tried to give them first aid. The students are having a hard time. Students fainting in class have been recorded in both Begusarai district and Motihari in East Champaran district.

Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the RJD and a former Deputy Chief Minister of the state, said, “The state government must take the matter seriously” in response to the reports of students passing out in school. As soon as possible, steps should be taken to keep schoolchildren safe from the warmth. Even though it’s 48 degrees Celsius outside, schools are still open.
