Rajkot Gaming Zone Fire: More Than 25 People Including 9 Children Died…A fire that started at a Rajkot gambling area confined many individuals. Four fire trucks arrived on the site in a flash to put out the flames and start the rescue effort.

In Rajkot, Gujarat, a major fire broke out at a gaming zone on Saturday, killing at least twenty-four people, nine of them children.

The TRP Game Zone was destroyed by fire, trapping several individuals inside.

The manager and owner of the gaming zone were among three arrested in connection with the fire incident.

Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said, “We will be registering an offense for negligence and the deaths that have occurred. The further investigation will occur once we complete the rescue operations here.”

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the authorities have been instructed to prioritize arrangements for immediate treatment of the injured.

“Instructions have been given to the Municipal Corporation and the administration for immediate rescue and relief operations in the fire incident in the game zone in Rajkot,” Bhupendra Patel tweeted.

Patel also announced an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those killed in the incident and Rs 50 thousand to the injured. The Chief Minister also said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed to find the exact cause of the fire.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took note of the incident and said that the administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected.

“Extremely distressed by the fire mishap in Rajkot. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” PM Modi posted on X.

A fire official said the firefighting operation was difficult due to wind.

“The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. The attempts to douse the fire are underway. We have not received any message of missing persons. We are facing difficulty in the firefighting operation because the temporary structure has collapsed and due to wind velocity,” fire officer IV Kher was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Reacting to the incident, BJP leader and Gujarat MLA Darshita Shah said that the government will take action on the matter but right now the priority is to save as many people as possible.

“An unfortunate incident has happened in Rajkot today. This is the first time in the history of Rajkot that children have lost their lives due to a fire in a game zone. The rescue team is trying to save as many people as possible. The government will take action on the matter but right now the priority is to save as many people as possible,” Darshita Shah said.
