NEET UG 2024 Paper Leak: Supreme Court Told Centre To Re-Exam!

The petitions against the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) award of grace points in the NEET-UG 2024 were thrown out by the Supreme Court on Thursday. The Court agreed with the Center’s suggestion to let 1,563 candidates retake the May 5 exam because they ran out of time.

The Supreme Court said that the NTA could give the test again on June 23 and throw out the scores of the 1,563 people who chose to show up. People who don’t want to show up will have their original scorecards looked at, without the grace points.

The NTA told the court that the re-test results would probably be released before June 30 so that counseling could begin on July 6.

A notice was sent out by the court about petitions that said the NEET test was run unfairly. The notice said that pleas would be heard on July 8. The letter that Physicswallah CEO Alakh Pandey sent was one of them.

Some people have also asked for the NEET-UG 2024 to be canceled because question papers were leaked and other problems were found.

The test was given by the NTA on May 5 at 4,750 centers, and about 24 lakh people signed up to take it. The results were supposed to be released on June 14, but they were instead released on June 4. This is likely because the answer sheets were graded earlier.

There have been protests and cases filed in seven high courts and the Supreme Court over claims like question papers being leaked and over 1,500 people who want to become doctors getting extra points.

As many as 67 students got a perfect score of 720, which has never happened before in the history of the NTA. Six of them were from a center in Faridabad, Haryana, which raised questions about possible cheating.

A lot of students gathered in Delhi on June 10 and wanted an investigation into what they saw as wrongdoing. It has been said that grace scores helped 67 students share the top spot.

The NTA runs the NEET-UG test for people who want to get into MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other classes at public and private schools across the country.
