On Thursday, July 18, the Supreme Court gave the NTA instructions to release the NEET UG results by July 20 at noon. The organization was directed by the court to post the grades that pupils received on its website but to keep the students’ identities private.
By Saturday midday, a panel made up of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra, directed that the results be announced separately by city and centre.

The court also emphasized that the reexamination of NEET-UG may only be conducted on the firm foundation that a significant amount of sanctity has been lost.
The Supreme Court stated that the “sanctity” of the May 5 test was “lost on a large scale” due to questions that were leaked. This means that the 2024 NEET-UG, which is required for admission to undergraduate medical programs, can only be administered again in that scenario.
On May 5, nearly 23.33 lakh students took the exam at 4,750 locations in 571 cities, including 14 abroad. A total of 1,563 candidates showed up for the retest.
Controversy over the 2024 NEET-UG exam broke last month after allegations the question paper had been leaked – subsequent inquiries indicated the leak was orchestrated by a national ‘solver gang’ network – on social media.
