The National Eligibility and Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) retest, which was administered to 1563 students, had its final answer key published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today. NTA had conducted a retest for selected 1563 candidates, who were initially awarded grace marks after they had claimed they suffered loss of exam time. However, of these 1563, only 813 candidates appeared for the retest, officials said. While the retest was conducted in the same six cities, but different centres.
None of the two candidates from Chandigarh appeared for the exam. A total of 291 students out of 602 appeared from Chhattisgarh, 1 student from Gujarat, 287 out of 494 appeared from Haryana and 234 appeared from Meghalaya’s Tura. This year, the NEET UG result drew immediate attention after results were announced on June 4, on the day of the Lok Sabha election results. The unusual number of toppers (67), score of 718 and 719 for two students — marks others claimed were not possible in the scheme of the exam — and allegations of paper leak in several regions.
