This week is anticipated to see the announcement of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) (NEET PG) 2024 exam date. Amidst the controversy surrounding the leak of NEET UG papers and the cancellation of UGC-NET, NEET PG was postponed. India’s applicants were highly critical of the sudden shift.

One candidate bemoaned the fact that, despite travelling 600 kilometres for the exam, it was rescheduled the night before it was supposed to happen.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), representing over 3.5 lakh doctors, commented on the situation, noting that the difficulties faced by NEET PG students are a consequence of the welcome reforms by the government.

The IMA urged the government to take swift action to ensure that counselling for admission in Medical, Dental, and other courses begins on time.

ABOUT NEET PG

NEET PG assesses the eligibility of MBBS degree holders for postgraduate medical courses in government and private medical colleges across India. The exam is vital for admission to approximately 26,168 Doctor of Medicine (MD), 13,649 Master of Surgery (MS), and 922 PG Diploma seats in 6,102 institutions.

There are 200 multiple-choice questions on the NEET PG test, and each question has four possible answers. Applicants have to select the best, most appropriate, or accurate response. Three hours and thirty minutes make up the exam. A right answer is worth four points, whereas a wrong answer is worth one point less. Unanswered questions do not result in a mark deduction.

Candidates are advised to stay tuned to the official NEET PG website and other trusted sources for the latest updates regarding the new exam date.
