The Nalanda University Act of 2010 established Nalanda University, which has its new campus situated next to its old ruins. This Act was the result of a decision made in 2007 during the second East Asia Summit in the Philippines.

It features two academic blocks with 40 classrooms accommodating nearly 1,900 students, two administrative blocks, two auditoriums with a combined seating capacity of over 300, and hostels housing up to 550 students. The residential area includes 197 academic housing units, ensuring comfort and convenience for faculty and students alike.

Nalanda University, apart from India, has participation from 17 other nations

These countries have signed MoUs in support of the university.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the new campus of Nalanda University in Bihar’s Rajgir on Wednesday.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and ambassadors of 17 nations are expected to attend the event being organised for inauguration of the campus.
