Vice President Kamala Harris, the deputy to US President Joe Biden, was declared “qualified” to hold the office of president on Thursday.
During a crucial press conference held here on Thursday, Biden stated, “I was clear about that right from the start.” She meets the requirements to be president. That is the reason I chose her.
He explained, “First because of the way she’s handled the issue of women’s bodies, to have control over their bodies, and secondly, her ability to handle almost any issue on the board,” in response to a question regarding the reasons behind this.
“This prosecutor was incredible. She was an excellent person and a strong performer in the Senate. Biden declared, “If I didn’t think she was qualified to be president, I wouldn’t have picked her.”
In 2020, Harris,59, will become the first Black American, South Asian American, and woman to be chosen as US vice president.
After Biden fumbled during a TV debate with Republican competitor Donald Trump last month, there have been increasing calls for the 81-year-old to withdraw from the presidential election in November.
The president mistakenly referred to Kamala Harris as former president Trump during the press conference. He said, “I wouldn’t have picked Trump to be the vice president, did I think she was not qualified to be presidentâ€æ.”

“The fact is that the consideration is that I think I’m the most qualified person to run for president. I beat him once and I will beat him again,” Biden said.
“The idea that senators and congressmen are running for office worrying about the ticket is not unusual. And I might add, there were at least five presidents running or incumbent presidents who had lower numbers than I have now later in a campaign,” he said.
So, there’s a long way to go in this campaign and so I’m just going to keep moving, Biden, the presumptive candidate of the Democratic Party, said.
