Jammu is on High Alert After a Terrorist Attack Injured Six Police Officers!

The Terrorist Attack comes just hours after a civilian was hurt by terrorist fire in Kathua district.

Srinagar: Police said an engagement is underway between militants and security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda after they assaulted an army base late last night. The shootout injured five troops and one special police officer (SPO).
This is the third such event in Jammu in three days, following terrorist attacks in Kathua that injured a civilian and on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi that killed nine passengers.

A terrorist was also killed in an encounter in Kathua last night, according to Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, who is in charge of the anti-terrorism operation.

Regarding the Doda incident, he stated that militants opened fire on a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in the Chattargala area late last night. He stated that a clash is taking place between security troops and militants in the higher altitudes.

Jammu has been high on the terror radar, with many of the strikes coming from places thought to be devoid of terrorism.

The police stated two terrorists were involved in the Kathua incident last evening, one of them was killed. Security forces are currently utilising drones to search for the second one in Kathua’s Hiranagar area.

According to the authorities, the terrorists had requested for water from many houses, increasing residents’ suspicions, and then opened fire when some villagers raised the alarm. According to Mr Jain, one civilian was injured in the firing, and allegations that three persons perished in the Kathua attack are incorrect.

“There are rumours that many people have been injured, and three have died. But just one person was harmed; aside from that, any information about hostages being kept and deaths is hearsay,” he claimed.

He also described the Kathua incident as a “fresh infiltration” and pointed to Pakistan without identifying it.

“Our aggressive neighbour is always attempting to undermine our country’s tranquil environment. “This (Hiranagar Terror Attack) appears to be a new infiltration,” he stated.

Two days earlier, a bus on its way to the Shiv Khori cave temple came under attack in Reasi. The terrorists opened fire after the bus driver refused to deboard the passengers, but lost control and fell into the gorge, the bus company’s manager said. Nine people were killed and 33 injured in the incident. The attack was carried out on the directions of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Hamza, officials said.
