Important Points on Age Relaxation
Candidates must be aware of several critical recommendations regarding age relaxation. Here are some considerations to bear in mind while seeking age relaxation in reserved categories.
- The waiver in the upper age restriction for SC/ST/OBC candidates can be used in conjunction with only one of the following categories (PWD, Ex-servicemen or Disabled Ex-servicemen, widows, divorced women, J&K domicile, or those impacted by the 1984 riots).
- Candidates seeking age relaxation for the posts of Officers Scale I, II, and III must provide copies of the requisite certificate(s) at the time of the interview (if he/she is shortlisted for the interview).
- Candidates seeking the position of Office Assistant must bring the certifications and documentation certifying relaxation with them when their documents are verified.
- Candidates belonging to the SC/ST, and PwD categories must present a certificate of caste or category that has been issued and signed by a competent authority in the appropriate format as stated by the Government of India.
- In the case of OBC candidates, the certificate should expressly state that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer of the OBC Category; as such, people are ineligible for the relaxation and must apply under the General category.
- Candidates who are Ex-Servicemen and who have already been hired by the Central Government in Groups “C” and “D” are eligible to take advantage of the Ex-Servicemen age relaxation when the Central Government again in a higher grade or cadre hires them.
- If an applicant from the Ex-Servicemen group has previously taken advantage of the benefits of seeking work in the civil services before applying for the IBPS RRB 2023, they will be disqualified from consideration for employment on the civil side.
- Candidates who have previously served in the armed forces will be regarded as ex-servicemen, and they will be eligible to apply for re-employment one year before the end of the specified term of engagement (starting from the last date of application). They will also be able to take advantage of all relaxations offered to ex-servicemen, but they will not be able to take off their uniform until they have served their full term in the Armed Forces Union.
