During a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, today, a gunman appeared to be attempting to kill former US President Donald Trump by striking him in the ear. Two spectators and the suspected gunman have died, while two more people are “critically” injured, according to officials.
As soon as he began speaking, the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate—whose campaign claimed he was “fine”—came under attack. There was blood all over his mouth and cheek.

In his first reaction to a shooting at his rally, he said in a statement he “was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear”.

President Joe Biden, who will face Trump in the upcoming US Presidential election, said the incident was “sick” and added that there was “no place in America for this kind of violence.”

Biden Speaks To Trump After Rally Shooting

US President Joe Biden has spoken to Donald Trump, a White House official said, after the Republican was injured in an apparent assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

“This evening, President Biden spoke to former President Trump,” the official was quoted as saying by AFP.

He added that the US incumbent would receive an updated briefing from law enforcement officials on the incident.
