AAP MP Swati Maliwal Assault Case: Exclusive Video Reveals!

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal says that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s assistant Bibhav Kumar “kicked and slapped seven to eight times” her at the former’s official home and “did not relent” when she asked him to stop, according to the FIR filed by the Delhi Police.

In the FIR about the alleged attack, Ms. Maliwal also said that Mr. Kumar hit her “again and again” with “full force,” but no one helped her. She also said that Mr. Kumar wouldn’t listen to her when she told him she was in pain and having her period.

It says in the FIR that Ms. Maliwal has said that this is “one of the hardest times of my life” and that “the pain, trauma, and harassment has been mind-numbing.”

She wrote in the FIR (a copy of which is with PTI), “… I am also having trouble walking.”

As the former head of the Delhi Commission for Women, Ms. Maliwal said that her position is “made worse by the fact that having worked all my life for women’s issues and helped lakhs of women get justice,” she “ended up being brutally beaten by someone I know for a long time.”

“I am deeply disturbed by this incident and am distraught that someone could display such ‘goonda’ behaviour,” said the FIR.

She has asked for the strongest measures to be taken in this case.

This Friday, the Rajya Sabha MP went to the Tis Hazari court to record her statement in the case. While there, the details of the alleged attack on Ms. Maliwal at Mr. Kejriwal’s official home on May 13 became public.

An FIR was filed by the Delhi Police on Thursday, and Kumar was named as an accused person in the case.

On May 17, a video that was said to be from the home of the Delhi Chief Minister and show Maliwal arguing with security staff at the time of the alleged attack went viral on social media.

It says in the FIR that she met Mr. Kejriwal at his official home at 9 a.m. on May 13. She told the cops that she went into the camp office and tried to call Mr. Kumar but couldn’t get through. She went to the neighborhood and asked the staff to let Mr. Kejriwal know she was there.

“I was informed that he was present in the house and I was told to wait in the drawing room,” she said.

She said that Mr. Kumar walked into the room while she was waiting for Mr. Kejriwal and started “racistally abusing me and yelling at me for no reason.”

“Tu kaise hamari baat nahi manegi? Kaise nahi manegi? Si teri aukat kya hai ki humko na kar de. Samajhti kya hai khud ko nh aurat? Tujhe to hum sabak sikhayenge (How can you not understand what we’re saying? How are you not going to follow? You have no right to say no to us. What do you think about yourself, woman? The FIR said, “We will teach you a lesson.”

In the FIR, she said that Mr. Kumar started “slapping” her “full force” “without any provocation” from her.

“He hit me at least seven to eight times while I was screaming.” I was shocked to the core and constantly screamed for help. “To keep myself safe, I pushed him away with my legs,” she said.

“That’s when he jumped on me, dragged me badly, and pulled my shirt up on purpose.” The buttons on my shirt came off, and the shirt rose up. When I hit my head on the center table, I fell to the floor. “I screamed for help all the time, but no one came,” she further said.

She said that Mr. Kumar “did not give up and attacked me by kicking me in the chest, stomach, and lower body with his legs.”

“I was in a lot of pain and told him over and over to stop.” Even though my shirt was coming up, he kept hitting me. “I kept telling him that I was having my period and that he should let go of me because I was in so much pain,” she said in the FIR.

She said she “was in a terrible state of shock at this unprovoked attack” after what happened. When she thought back to that time, she said she was “deeply traumatized” and that she had called emergency number 112 to tell them what had happened.

“Kar le jo tujhe karna hai, tu hamara kuch nahi bigaad sakti, teri haddi pasli tudwa denge aur aise jagah gadenge kisi ko pata bhi nahi chalega,” Mr. Bibhav said, threatening me. You are not allowed to hurt us, so do whatever you want. We’ll break your bones and put you somewhere no one will ever find out.

She said that Mr. Kumar left the room when he found out that she had called the police, but he came back with the security guards who work at the main gate of the CM’s camp offices.

She wrote in the FIR that they told her to leave “at Kumar’s request.” She told them over and over that she was “brutally beaten up” and told them to wait for the PCR van.

She said that the PCR staff helped her get into an autorickshaw.

“I reached there (Civil Lines police station) and sat in the SHO room, where I was crying and informed the SHO about the incident,” she shared.

“I was in a lot of pain and had terrible cramps.” I also started getting a lot of calls on my cell phone from the media. I didn’t file a written report at the police station because I was traumatized, in pain, and didn’t want to make politics out of it,” she said, adding that her head was splitting in pain and her arms and legs were “aching terribly due to the assault.”

“Extremely painful for her” have been the days since the event, Ms. Maliwal said.
