Meet IIT-JEE topper with AIR 1, son of income tax officer!

Sarvesh Mehtani, a student from Panchkula, Chandigarh, is presently employed as a quantitative trader. He placed first in the 2017 IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) exam.

It is undeniable that the IIT JEE entrance exam is among the hardest in the world, if not in all of India. Thousands of students from all across India take the IIT JEE entrance exam each year in an attempt to pass and get into one of the IITs. However, only a small number of the most intelligent people manage to pass the IIT JEE admission exam. Today, we celebrate Sarvesh Mehtani’s incredible journey, who placed first in JEE (Advanced) in 2017.

Panchkula, Chandigarh, student Sarvesh Mehtani works as a quantitative trader at the moment. In the 2017 IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), he scored the highest. In 2021, he graduated with a degree in computer science and engineering from IIT Bombay.

Parvesh Mehtani, the father of Sarvesh Mehtani and an officer in the Income Tax department, stated that his goal was to place among the top 10 in the extremely hard exam. His favourite pastimes were playing badminton, watching cartoons on TV, and listening to music. Mehtani went on to state that his goal had always been to get among the top 10 in the extraordinarily challenging exam. Working in the industrial training department of the Haryana government, mother Raj Bala claimed her son did not see education as a hardship and always made sure to review his syllabus in class before going to bed.

Sarvesh achieved a flawless CGPA of 10 in Class 10 and 95.4 percent of the possible points in the Board Examinations for Class 12. Sarvesh Mehtani studied for as long as five to six hours on a regular day and eight to ten hours on a holiday to pass the 2017 JEE Advanced exam. With 339 out of 366 in JEE Advanced, he earned an AIR.

Sarvesh studied for a B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Bombay, one of the most prominent engineering schools in India, after receiving the highest score in the JEE exam. His academic career continued after that. As a result of his realisation of the value of lifelong learning and exposure to many cultures, Sarvesh is currently employed as a quantitative trader, creating high-frequency trading methods for financial derivatives.
