Recently, celebrated actress Manisha Koirala had a delightful meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London. Manisha’s Journey From Royal Dynasty To Suffering Cancer To Standing Undefeated!
Manisha has her roots belonging to Nepal, where her grandfather, BP Koirala, was Prime Minister of Nepal from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. Her father was also a former Cabinet minister and a former member of Nepal’s House of Representatives.
Drawing inspiration from her brother Siddharth Koirala, she aspired to become an actress and subsequently shifted to Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan in her 11th class!
She made her debut in 1989 with the Nepali film Pheri Bhetauala, however, 1942: A Love Story stood as the hallmark of her acting career. Throughout her career, she has done marvelous work which you can read in her full biography!
However, the journey was not as graceful as it seemed. In 2012 and 2013 she got diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer with Stage IV. But it was all her determination to fight against all odds for which she traveled half of the world and got her treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
During her healing period, she took a good gap of almost 5 years before returning to the Industry. She returned to film acting in 2017. However, in 2018 she also published a book with the intention of motivating other people suffering from the same disease. As of talking now, it took almost 10 long years to make a comeback. Her latest release “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” has proven to the world that nothing is impossible if you remain focused and undefeated in your mind!
